The village of Pesochnica is located in the municipality of Berkovica, the region of Montana. Pesochnica is a small village situated 12 km away from Berkovica. On the road from Berkovica to Montana there is a branch for Pesochnica and Bokilovci, the village is 4 km away from this main road. Pesochnica is surrounded by hills and the scenere is very beautiful. The first chairman of the first Bulgarian parliament – Anto Georgiev came from this village he was 100 years old when he became deputy. He was elected twice as a member of the parliament. There is evidence of the existence of the village during the conquering of Bulgaria by the Ottoman Empire. Pesochnica became a Bulgarian municipality after the liberation.
